I grew up in Redlands California.  Prior to becoming a teacher, I spent 8 years in the United States Air Force. During my military career, I spent time traveling Europe. My second assignment, I was fortunate enough to be station close to Washington DC, which I visited on many occasions. After separating from the USAF, I entered college, and obtained my Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education with extra studies in middle school education and English Language Learners (ESL). My first full time teaching position was in 2006. In January of 2015, I returned to college and obtained by Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a Specialist in Reading Education.  I have enjoyed the pleasure of teaching science for the last 7 years of my teaching career.

I am a mother of two children and a step mother of two more. Along with my travels of Europe, I have traveled throughout most of the 48 contiguous states and Hawaii.  I have close relatives living in California, Arizona, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Colorado, Alabama, Texas, and North Carolina.  I enjoy spending time with my family and friends playing board games, reading, and swimming. I try to stay fit by exercising fairly regular. Currently, I spend much of my time involved in the Society for Creative Acronyms (SCA) participating in medieval recreation in such areas as archery and knife throwing.  I support creating a greener and cleaner world through the study, education, and support of environmental friendly practices.
