Hixson Middle School. August 2007-Present

My name is Mr. Weger. I have been teaching at Hixson Middle School since 2007. My original education focus was Industrial Design Technology, Architecture and Drafting. I changed courses during my college experience to Art Education. I love the middle school age student art. I have studied the Creative and Mental Growth written by Viktor Lowenfeld. I have participated in many art education workshops throughout my career. I am very active within the community of Chattanooga and Hixson. I have organized two student exhibits at the Hunter Museum of American Art, and several other exhibits including 4 years at the Memorial North Park Hospital, Northgate Mall, Moe's, and Blue Coast Burrito. Hixson Middle students have been recognized in the Wednesday insert from the Chattanooga Times Free Press, in addition, a former student was recognized by the Mayor and had their work displayed on a billboard in Hixson.  I am a member of the Hunter Museum of American Art and Association for Visual Arts.  I am a member of the Holmberg Arts Leadership Institiute for Teachers.
