Mrs. Carrie Bishop-8th ELA

Photo of Carrie Bishop Carrie Bishop graduated from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 1995 and is certified to teach Kindergarten through 8th grade students. In 1998, Bishop won Teacher of the Year for Walker County while teaching 1st grade. Throughout her career she has served on school based leadership teams, served as grade level team leader, and department chair. In 2010, Carrie returned to UTC, completed her Master’s of Education, and was awarded Most Outstanding Graduate Student. Bishop has been the recipient of two Junior League Grants and two Unum Grants. In 2016 she won Middle School Teacher of the Year for HCDE. Mrs. Bishop was a Leadership Fellow, a TN SCORE Educator Fellow, a STEM Fellow, a Policy Fellow, a participant in Tennessee STEM Innovation Network’s 2018-2019 Innovative Leaders Institute, a Content Reviewer for EdReports, served on Superintendent Dr. Bryan Johnson’s Transition Team on the Student Achievement Sub-Committee, one of the writers of the ELA district curriculum guides, and is a district Classroom Organization Management Program (COMP) Trainer. In 2019, Mrs. Bishop won the Teacher Leadership Award from Public Education Foundation for her work in transforming public education.
