Hello My Name Is...
Gerald Harwood

My name is Jerry Harwood and I teach Bible History. My last teaching position was in Atlanta teaching Latin though I have also been an adjunct for a local college since 1999. I am from the Chattanooga area. I am married and have six children. My oldest two are adopted from Ukraine and I taught in a state college there as an adjunct at one time. I graduated from UTC, have a masters from Samford University and a masters in counseling from Richmont University. I am a volunteer firefighter with Walden’s Ridge Emergency Services and spend most of my free time at the fire hall!
In case you are unfamiliar with Bible in the Schools, I have included the link to the “Bible In The Schools” web site, www.bibleintheschools.com, which I recommend that you visit if you are interested. BITS is a longstanding program in Hamilton County (over 90 years) and at Hixson Middle School (over two decades). It began by the cooperation of a Jewish Rabbi and local pastor who saw the benefit of the program (still in existence) at McCallie.
